Glenview's Pribyl Takes Lead In UK Car Racing Series

UNITED KINGDOM — It looks like Jason Pribyl's decision to race cars professionally in the United Kingdom was the right call. The 2023 Glenbrook South graduate recently won the first race of the seven-event United Formula Ford series, and sits atop the leaderboard as a result. The race was held on April 13 at Silverstone National. Each stop on the series includes two races. Pribyl, 18, spoke to Patch in February about the decision to head overseas and race in the UK. "There are many more opportunities in the UK and in Europe as a whole in comparison to the U.S. as well," Pribyl said. "There are more teams, and networking will be one of my priorities while over there."Pribyl, competing with the Phil Wills Racing team and driving the No. 59 Ray Race Car F1600, "showcased his skill and determination in a highly competitive field," according to Jason Pribyl Autosport. In the series-opener, Pribyl had to adapt to a new challenge with a standing start, while managing to avoid an early collision involving the front-runners. He led the field until a red flag ended the race prematurely, which secured his first win in the series. For the second race, also held at Silverstone National, Pribyl started from the pole position, overcame an 5-second penalty and was able to secure a podium spot with a third-place finish.Pribyl and the Phil Wills Racing One team lead the championship by 18 points, with the next challenge coming on Saturday at Donington Park. The article Glenview's Pribyl Takes Lead In UK Car Racing Series appeared first on Glenview, IL Patch.
