Fans of Mama June and the Shannon family have been following the custody battle concerning June’s granddaughter Kaitlyn after she lost her mother Anna in 2023. Since then, there has been discourse concerning Kaitlyn getting to see her sister, Kylee. Recently, London Smith, the wife of Anna’s ex-husband Michael Cardwell, has reportedly opened up about the situation.
‘Mama June’ Shannon Previously Denied Being Behind Her Granddaughters Being Separated
Fans were introduced to the Shannon family through various series, including Toddlers & Tiaras, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and Mama June. This includes June Shannon and her daughters, Anna, Jessica, Lauryn, and Alana, who is also known by the alias, “Honey Boo Boo.”
Tragically, Anna passed away on December 9, 2023. She was survived by her two daughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee.

London Smith is the wife of Anna’s ex-husband, Michael Cardwell. She recently took to social media in response to June denying it’s her fault her granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kylee, rarely see each other.
Since their mother’s passing, Kylee was sent to live with her father, Michael. Meanwhile, June fought Michael for custody of Kaitlyn, whose father has not been publicly named.
As previously reported, this case ultimately ruled in June’s favor. At the time, as noted by The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, June publicly claimed that she wasn’t at fault for Kaitlyn and Kylee rarely seeing each other.
A now-deleted post, shared by the “mamajunefanpage2,” or “fromnottohotsaga,” page, was recently attributed to London and weighs in on the story. According to a video, the post read, “You have no idea what [you’re] talking about. Every time Kylee goes to Georgia, several emails and [texts were given] to the Shannon family to try to make plans for the kids to see each other.”
London Claimed That Another Figure Was Helping The Girls Stay In Touch SInce Their Mother’s Passing
“Michael’s mother reaches out every time Kylee comes to see her. When Kylee is age appropriate, she will see all the receipts herself.”
However, London did share that another member of the family was helping the girls keep in touch. This was Eldridge Toney, who married Anna in 2023. The post continued, “We tried everything and every time also. Every time Eldridge and Lee FaceTime, and if he is with her sister, she gets to see her on FaceTime.”

London reportedly added that the only people “in that whole family that has continued to have communication with Kylee” were Eldridge and June’s mother. The post concluded, “That [itself] shows us and tells us everything we need to know.”
For his part, Eldridge previously spoke to People about wanting to honor Anna’s wishes when it came to her daughters. He shared, “The day before she passed, we had our talk and said our goodbyes. Her dying wish was for her girls to grow up knowing who their mother was. And I promised I would do right by the girls always.”
