Anthony Joshua delayed getting to Wembley as clock ticks down until Daniel Dubois fight

Anthony Joshua was delayed getting to Wembley with just an hour to go until his bout with Daniel Dubois.AJ will go into the clash on the back of four successive victories, having beaten the likes of Jermaine Franklin Jr, Otto Wallin, Robert Helenius and Francis Ngannou over the past 18 months. The undercard is well underway at Wembley. But, with just an hour to go, TNT Sports claimed that Joshua still hadn't arrived at the famous stadium. They said that he had instead opted to warm-up in his hotel room, taking one almighty gamble in the process.Fans have reacted to the news, with one user saying: "He’s becoming more and more unbearable by the day."A second opined: "Trying those Ngannou mind games."A third joked that Joshua had 'bottled it', while a fourth quipped: "Mind games of course."JUST IN: Man Utd fans rage over Bruno Fernandes decision after Crystal Palace draw - 'Unbelievable'Joshua has now finally turned up at the famous stadium, with pundits Carl Frampton, Lennox Lewis and Steve Bunce all left surprised by his decision to attend so late.Meanwhile, earlier in the night, Hamzah Sheeraz got the better of Tyler Denny. And the 25-year-old was delighted with his win, saying: "I feel great, just a massive thank you to everyone who's come to support me today."I always leave it down to my team, they know what they're doing so this wasn't a banana skin for me. I delivered.READ MORE: Max Verstappen stages protest ahead of Singapore Grand Prix - 'It's just ridiculous'When asked about a world title fight, he added: "I'm tired of calling for world title fights now."His Excellency is the man to make the fights now and whoever he puts in the ring with me, I'm ready for it."It [the support of the crowd] means everything and more."A huge, huge thank you to everyone who came out today. We've got a great main event coming."LATEST SPORTS NEWS:Tyson Fury makes feelings clear ahead of Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois fightAnthony Joshua and Tyson Fury fight on the verge of finally happening ahead of Daniel Dubois clashMike Tyson makes passionate speech about age before Jake Paul fight - 'I want to change the way people think'A quick night's work at Wembley for @sheeraz_hamzah 💨As well as an update on the current whereabouts of Anthony Joshua 👀#RiyadhSeasonCard: Wembley Edition | #JoshuaDubois | Buy NOW on TNT Sports Box Office ▶️ https://t.co/FXWiFF98Ej pic.twitter.com/MLtguFe9Gb— Boxing on TNT Sports (@boxingontnt) September 21, 2024 Meanwhile, regarding Joshua, the 34-year-old is expected to finally agree to a bout with Tyson Fury if he gets the better of Dubois tonight. And Eddie Hearn, speaking to CNN, has admitted he's hoping that showdown will finally happen next year.“Firstly, we’ll get Saturday out the way. But the plan has always been to see Anthony Joshua become undisputed," he said."Obviously, he fell at that almost final hurdle to Oleksandr Usyk (in 2021) and now, four wins on the bounce, three knockouts, I think looking better than ever."If he wins on Saturday, it’s all eyes on December 21 in Riyadh to see who wins the rematch between Fury and Usyk.“I mean, is there a person in the world who doesn’t want to see Tyson Fury fight Anthony Joshua? I think we’ll see it."I think (chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority) Turki Al-AlShaikh will make that fight in 2025, but if both guys win, you have the biggest fight in the history of the sport.“And I don’t think AJ can retire, I don’t think Fury can retire, I don’t think I can retire either until we get those two in the ring. And if we can do it for undisputed, what a night that will be.”
