Burglary Leads To Felony Charges For Yorkville Man: Sheriff
YORKVILLE, IL — A Yorkville man was charged with multiple felonies after officials say he stole several items from a property May 2 in the 10000 Block of Corneils Road.Deputies from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office responded to the residence in unincorporated Yorkville for a report of a burglary. The complainant said several things were stolen.Officials could not say what items were stolen, since the investigation remains ongoing. “We don’t want to do anything that may negatively impact the investigation,” Deputy Dan Briars told Patch.The investigation led deputies to a residence on Pavillion Road in unincorporated Yorkville, where 32-year-old Ricky Rodriguez-Torres lived. According to a news release, deputies followed up on the lead and obtained and executed search warrants, leading to the man being taken into custody.Detectives also located several firearms at the man’s residence, which he was not legally authorized to have because at the time of his arrest, Rodriguez-Torres was on pretrial release following an arrest related to a domestic battery, according to Briars.The Kendall County State’s Attorney's Office approved the following charges against Rodriguez-Torres:Two counts of burglary, a felonyOne count of possession of stolen property, a felonyOne count of unlawful use of a weapon, a felonyOne count of violation of pretrial release, a felonyOne count of possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner's Identification card, a misdemeanorOne count of possession of ammunition without a FOID card, a misdemeanorPatch reached out to sheriff's office representatives but did not hear back at the time of publication.The man remains detained at the Kendall County jail awaiting his next court appearance on May 22.As the investigation into the burglary remains ongoing, officials are asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office at 630-381-9847 or [email protected].
