Stormy Daniels' husband is speaking out about Donald Trump’s landmark felony conviction — which he says was a "big weight off" his wife's shoulders. In an interview with CNN given shortly after the verdict was handed down, adult film star and director Barrett Blade said his wife's testimony during the trial wasn't about "her seeking justice for herself.""She was standing up for herself early on and saying what was right, but this whole hush money trial has really … it’s not her story," Blade told CNN's Erin Burnett.

Daniels was a key part of Trump's trial, with Manhattan District Attorney's Office prosecutors arguing that the former president had falsified documents in order to mask a $130,000 hush money payment made to her in the final days of his 2016 presidential election. In falsifying records about those payments, prosecutors alleged that Trump was more broadly attempting to bury evidence of an illegal conspiracy to sway the election.

Daniels herself testified in the trial, wearing a bulletproof vest outside the courthouse and saying on the stand that she met Trump in 2006, when he invited her to dinner at his penthouse hotel room in Nevada following a celebrity golf tournament. While there, she said she went to the restroom and when she got out, she found him in his boxer shorts. She alleged that they had sex, and that he did not wear a condom during that encounter.Trump was ultimately found guilty in a New York court on Thursday, May 30, of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records — becoming the first president in history to become a convicted felon. He still denies the affair with Daniels.

Speaking to CNN, Blade said, “I mean, it’s nice that the jury saw the facts and made the decision, and of course, we support that either way; if they saw it differently, we would have supported either way. But I think it does help with the fact that she feels, you know, a little vindicated that, you know, she was telling the truth."
