HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —Welcome To Bird Town Horsham Township.Signs are now posted throughout the township touting the designation as a new member of Bird Town Pennsylvania.Last year, the township "proudly became designated" as an official Bird Town community."We are committed to create a healthier environment for birds, wildlife, and our residents," officials said.The locations for the Bird Town signs are:Horsham Road at Lower State RoadDresher Road at Welsh RoadLimekiln Pike at Lower State RoadMeetinghouse Road at County Line RoadLimekiln Pike at Welsh RoadHorsham Road at Easton RoadBird Town Pennsylvania is an all-volunteer organization that works in partnership with local municipalities and like-minded organizations to promote community-based conservation actions to create a healthier, more sustainable environment for birds, wildlife, and people.Horsham Township was designated as an official Bird Town in 2023 and the awarded certificate states that Horsham Township is recognized as a community working to promote conservation and stewardship through sustainable land care practices, habitat protection and the restoration of natural system function to create a healthier environment for birds, wildlife, and people.Horsham Township's Environmental Advisory Board (EAB) serves as the Bird Town Committee to work with Bird Town PA in achieving these goals and objectives.The board is responsible for making recommendations to council and the planning commission on matters dealing with protection, conservation, management, promotion and use of natural resources including land, air and water resources located within the territorial limits of Horsham Township.Click here to learn more about Horsham Township's EAB.Bird Town PA works with municipal leaders, community members and residents to engage, educate and provide information to keep our town healthier for not only birds but all wildlife and people."We’re not just about birds but work to support an overall healthy ecosystem for all.
