Coronation Street quitter Helen Worth ‘lined up for Strictly Come Dancing’ after emotional Gail Platt exit
CORONATION Street star Helen Worth could be heading to the Strictly dancefloor after hanging up her scripts for good as Cobbles legend Gail Platt.
Helen stunned the nation when she revealed Gail will be leaving Wetherfield forever later this year.

The timing has prompted a rush of bets at the bookies for the star, 73, to side step her way into a pair of ballroom shoes.
According to bookies the odds are on for Helen to appear on the BBC One dancing show.
The actress has not revealed any desires to take on more TV work, but there are hopes she will sign up to Strictly, or ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, when he character is written out of the ITV soap.
Bookmakers are giving odds of 8/1 for her to appear in the ballroom this autumn, and 10/1 to enter the rival jungle show.
Celebrity Big Brother is also among shows which she is predicted to try out.
Helen has graced the nation’s TV screens in the role of Gail Platt for half a century, clocking up five husbands and three murder attempts.
Given her history, there is chatter of her leaving the show in a very emotional storyline.
Speaking about her departure, she said: “This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world.
“I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding.
“I have been truly blessed to have been given the most incredible scripts week in week out, and to have worked with fantastic actors, directors and a brilliant crew.
“The past 50 years have flown by and I don’t think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet.
