Rolex Theft Leads To Multiple Charges For NJ Man: Police

WALL, NJ — A New Jersey man is facing multiple charges following an investigation into a stolen Rolex watch, Wall Township Police said.Matthew Nolfi, 21, of Spring Lake Heights, was arrested and charged with theft, hindering, possession of an imitation firearm, possession of fraudulent government identification, possession of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, police said.Nolfi’s arrest is the result of an investigation by the Wall Township Police Department Detective Bureau that stemmed from a theft on June 3 in Wall Township.Around 8:30 p.m. on June 3, police responded to the Starbucks on 1919 Route 35 for a reported dispute. The call involved a witness who saw two men in a foot pursuit.Once officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with a 35-year-old man from Farmingdale who said that he arranged a meeting via Facebook Marketplace to sell a Rolex watch. The victim reported that the suspect, after being handed the watch in a bag, abruptly fled from the location on foot. The Wall Township Detective Bureau then took over the investigation, which led to Nolfi’s arrest.On Monday, police said a search warrant was executed at Nolfi’s home in Spring Lake Heights, where the stolen Rolex was found along with a large quantity of LSD.Nolfi is currently being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a detention hearing.
