“At 145 it’s stable”: Even With a $80 Million Net Worth, John Cena Drives a Car That Costs Less Than $50,000
John Cena has been one of the most prominent faces of sports and entertainment. His WWE tenure was grand with numerous accolades to his credit, including being a 13-time WWE Champion and three-time World Heavyweight Champion. The WWE superstar later went on to find his cinematic career in Hollywood and has been in several movies ever since his debut.

Cena made his Hollywood debut with John Bonito’s 20th Century Studios action thriller The Marine in 2006. Certainly, the actor has seen ups and downs with his career in Hollywood, but he did extend his fortune. However, the wrestler-turned-actor still drives a car that costs less than $50,000.

Fans might wonder what John Cena drives on a daily basis. It’s a pain for the actor, but he still drives a Honda Civic Type R. In today’s market, the car would cost around $45,000 (per U.S. News & World Report). For context, Cena has a stunning $80 million fortune (per Celebrity Net Worth).

In an appearance in the Whiskey Ginger Podcast with Andrew Santino, the actor revealed his daily drive and why he would never let it go. “I like archaic stuff but it’s also really unreliable. My daily driver is a Civic Type R,” Cena said, adding, “It’s got tech it’s manual reliable, the car is stable.”
It’s got a third pedal, and at 145, it’s stable like it goes it’s got seats in the back. I can actually pick people up. You know, if you have a purse in a Countach you’re screwed and they’re a little bit rough around the edges, the clutch is a dog fight and it’s really tough to get those things running like they’re always in the shop, it’s always leaking some sort of fluid somewhere. So, if I actually need to drive a car on a distance, that’s more than like 10 miles. This is it.
Also, Cena would not let anyone drive the car unless the person is an experienced driver or someone he trusts. The host of the show, Santino, asked the actor if he could have a shot at it. “If you’ve never had an experience with that clutch, I don’t want mine to be the first time,” Cena said. Obviously, the Barbie actor holds the car as one of his greatest possessions.

It’s not just the archaic angle Cena loves about his daily drive. The actor also shared the perks of driving his Civic Type R. Of course, there have always been two sides to the story, on one hand, he is comfortable driving it, and on the other, the car is a constant reminder of the struggle to move it forward. Still, for Cena, it is worth every trouble he endures.
All right, those who know what I’m talking about it’s a, it really is like nothing you’ve ever driven before in a difficult way, it’s the maneuver to reverse is when you sit outside in reverse because there’s… So it looked awesome, completely impractical, not a chance you’re gonna parallel park the thing like it’s not trying to, trying to like the Hollywood Hills and that thing would be a disaster. You really have to like, I really have to like get in there you know my wife will be running, ‘what’s wrong with you?’ Like this is how I have to make the car go right where on the other the Civic’s like it’s it’s nothing it’s an, it’s a fun easy drive.
Other than the Civic, Cena has a huge collection of cars. The actor owns several classic cars including a 1969 MGC GT, a 1984 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, a 1966 Dodge Charger Hemi 426, a 1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro, a 1970 Buick GSX, a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Rallye 350, and a 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator, (per VIPFortunes).
