Inside Scoop: Recruiting percentages for the On3 Elite Series
With a ton of Texas’ top 2025 targets headed to Nashville on Monday, Inside Texas delivers our pre-On3 Elite Series percentages.
Dakorien Moore, WR, Duncanville (Texas)
Eric: The only way I don’t see Moore ending up at Texas is if the Horns land Jaime Ffrench and other schools successfully recruit against that. But come on, catching passes from Arch Manning just a mile or two away from grandma makes all the sense in the world. 75%.
Justin: One thing that goes under the radar is that Moore desires the SEC. Ohio State and Oregon don’t play in the SEC. Point: Texas. 75%.
Jonah Williams, ATH, Galveston (Texas) Ball
Eric: The Aggies have the momentum while LSU and Oregon are also making some noise. Texas has the chance to make this recruitment difficult due to baseball and NIL.
30%, but I’ll be watching his Texas official visit closely. I don’t think he leaves the state.
Justin: Williams could see himself at a number of programs, namely Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, and LSU. It just feels like the Horns are still catching up to the others. 25%.
Kaliq Lockett, WR, Sachse (Texas)
Eric: This is a tough one to handicap because Texas is in good shape with Lockett and he says he has no issue competing against whatever other receivers end up in the class. That sounds good until Texas has Moore and/or Ffrench in the class and other schools pitch him on being WR1. 30%.
Justin: He likes the idea of a potential three five-star WR class in 2025, if Moore and Ffrench jump in the boat. He also wants to be the man so let’s see how the June official visit month shakes out. 35%.
Michael Fasusi, OT, Lewisville (Texas)
Eric: Yes, the Aggies have overtaken Oklahoma as the No. 1 threat to Texas but Kyle Flood almost always gets his man and Fasusi has been the top target since Day 1. 75%.
Justin: This remains a battle between the Horns, Aggies, and Sooners. I still see Texas A&M and Oklahoma jockeying for second place. 76%.
Jaime Ffrench, WR, Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin
Eric: Texas has the lead and now needs to hold on and close out. It’s an enviable position to be in. Echoes of Ryan Wingo’s recruitment. 80%.
Justin: It really does remind me of the Wingo recruitment. I love where Texas sits today, and if that official visit hits hard, I’m seeing orange house. 80%.
Dorian Brew, CB, Conroe (Texas)
Eric: Texas likes its position with Brew but views USC as a threat equal to LSU, where his father ran track. The key to this recruitment is winning over his mother and we hear Texas is doing well in that regard.
33%, but I have yet to talk to Mrs. McCarley. Hopefully that changes this weekend.
Justin: Texas keeps chipping away at this recruitment. The need for a stud corner in 2025 makes this even more interesting. 30%.
Dijon Lee, CB, Mission Viejo (Calif.)
Eric: Per a source there’s nothing to see here at this time. We’ll see if his midweek official visit happens and if it moves the needle. 10%.
Justin: He hasn’t see campus in 18 months. If he even makes this visit, we’ll revisit. Until then, not likely. 10%.
Lance Jackson, EDGE, Texarkana (Texas) Pleasant Grove – #AllGasNoBrakes
Eric: I love that he got the invite to the Elite Series because he is elite. Firm commit, the kid isn’t going anywhere.
Justin: He’s a five-star, by God.
Keelon Russell, QB, Duncanville (Texas) – SMU commit
Eric: I tend to think Texas will try and make the 2026 cycle a two-quarterback class. I’ll still be interested to see where Russell ends up. He’s had ample opportunity to de-commit from SMU but has help firm thus far.
Justin: If Lacey isn’t a part of this class, then we’ll give you better than decent percentages. Watch Oregon.
KJ Lacey, QB, Saraland (Ala.) – #AllGasNoBrakes
Eric: I don’t think he’s going anywhere.
Justin: I don’t either.
James Simon, RB, Shreveport (La.) Calvary Baptist
Eric: We should be nearing decision time for the Texas lean. 85%.
Justin: I really like this kid. 85%.
Michael Terry, ATH, San Antonio (Texas) Alamo Heights
Eric: Terry’s an interesting prospect and that’s created an interesting recruitment. From those we talk to in Austin, they like the mental makeup of the kid and think he could find a home on defense. On offense, they don’t seem to have a clear projection.
40%. If he didn’t care what side of the ball he played I could see UT making some noise here. As of now, I just don’t know how to slot him in the class with numbers tight at the offensive skill positions.
Justin: If he decides he prefers defense, Texas’ll give him a good look. If not, he won’t likely be at UT. 30%.
