Conan O’Brien’s delightfully silly monologue, along with some deserving winners, made this year’s Oscars one of the best in years. The comedian playfully poked fun at Emilia Perez star Karla Sofia Gascon and made a witty Dune sandworm reference. Their jokes added a lighthearted touch to the night’s festivities.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s magical performance
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s Wicked performance at the Oscars was nothing short of mesmerizing. Grande, nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Glinda, swapped her pink couture Schiaparelli dress for a dazzling ruby red gown to deliver a heartfelt rendition of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’. Cynthia then followed with a Diana Ross, Home cover. The duo then returned to the stage for a powerful performance of Defying Gravity, leaving no doubt about their star power. Erivo’s solo performance clearly paid tribute to Los Angeles in the aftermath of the city’s recent wildfires.

The LAFD tells jokes
Twelve firefighters from across the county took the stage between award presentations, honored for their bravery during January’s wildfires. They received over a minute of applause for their heroic efforts in Pacific Palisades and Altadena.

Mickey Madison and Zoe Saldana Take Home The Best Actress Awards
At just 25, Mickey Madison won Best Actress for Anora, beating Hollywood icon Demi Moore. She stars as a stripper who falls for a Russian oligarch’s son, delivering a standout performance. Expressing that winning the award was a dream come true, she vowed to continue advocating for sex workers.
