The pregnancy had come about after Toyah was raped, and in her shock the teen had buried her baby on the Red Rec.
It all came to light after internet sleuths started digging at the Red Rec after Roy Cropper was wrongly accused of murdering Lauren Bolton.
Toyah then headed to the spot with a single yellow rose to leave for her baby girl, before confiding in her sister Leanne and her partner Nick Tilsley about what had happened.
The body was recovered and the police started to investigate what had happened all those years ago.
In upcoming Coronation Street scenes, the police inform Toyah that they can now release her baby for burial, leaving her stunned.
It’s a week of twists and turns for Toyah as she continues to lock horns with Leanne over her involvement with The Institute.
Toyah has tried to warn her sister that Rowan and the organisation is a scam, but Leanne has ignored her.
In other upcoming scenes, Toyah is at the Bistro and is horrified to get a delivery of yellow roses.
Explaining the significance she tells Nick it had to be Rowan who reported her to the police.
A furious Toyah confronts Leanne with the roses and shows her the card and she admits she told Rowan.
Nick returns home and spells out to Leanne that either she cuts all ties with Rowan and the Institute or they’re finished.
Later, when Leanne returns, a guilty Nick quizzes her about Rowan, but an angry Leanne assures him she would never cheat on him.
Nick and Toyah agree their kiss earlier was a mistake.
Rowan calls at the bistro on his motorbike and handing a spare helmet to Leanne, tells her he’s got a surprise for her.
Coronation Street's shock exits 2024
Corrie has said goodbye to several cast members this year. Let's break down who's left the famous soap:
Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) has said farewell to Corrie to start a new life in Germany.
The youngster moved to live with her dad Dom Everett, who went back on the £10,000 bribe Eliza’s grandfather Stu had offered to keep him out of her life.
Paul Foreman will bow out of the soap this summer when he loses his fight with motor neurone disease (MND) in tragic scenes.
After being diagnosed last year, the fan favourite, portrayed by Peter Ash, was devastated to learn he only had months left to live.
Viewers know he is planning to take his own life to end his suffering.
Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) departed the cobbles after being offered the opportunity of a lifetime to study in America.
Though she struggled to decide with her stepdad Paul’s impending death from MND, she was convinced she had to live her life to the full.
Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) has struggled with the sudden departure of his father Peter from the cobbles.
The Weatherfield legend left his family and loved ones behind on Boxing Day, 2023, when his wife Carla Connor encouraged him to travel around the world with a friend.
Simon’s been on a downward spiral ever since and his exit could end in tragedy.
Alya Nazir is set to leave the cobbles as actress Sair Khan prepares to go on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her first child.
It looks likely she’ll be heading to Dublin after securing a lucrative new job, leaving her colleague and fling Adam Barlow behind.
Show stalwart Eileen Grimshaw is taking a break to star in the Sister Act The Musical UK tour.
She’s had to leave the Street immediately after her son Jason broke his back after falling off a moped in Asia. She will be back filming in May once her dates on the tour come to an end.
Leanne follows him out leaving Nick and Toyah to cope with the lunchtime rush on their own. Nick’s fuming whilst Toyah’s incredulous.
At a hotel restaurant Rowan introduces Leanne to Willow the CEO of the institute over video call.
He then tells a flattered Leanne she will soon be able to recruit new members herself.
As Toyah sets off for her Institute court case, she receives a call which shocks her.
An ashen-faced Toyah hurries into A&E and tells the nurse on the desk that she had a call to inform her that her sister, Leanne, has been involved in a motorbike accident.
Will Leanne be OK?
