Copper Wire Theft Was Inside Job, Nassau Police Say
JERICHO, NY — Nassau County police officers were called to Getty Terminal Corp. at 125 Jericho Turnpike after a quantity of copper wire was reported to have been stolen some time between Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday. Police said after a thorough investigation was conducted, two employees were suspected of the crime.Carlos Hernandez, 35, of 25-107 71st Ave. in Bellerose and Hugo Ayala, 23, of 4 Nassau Blvd. in Malverne were arrested without incident, police said.Both face charges of Burglary 3rd Degree and Grand Larceny 2nd Degree.
