Norwalk Police Annual 'Night Out' Event Postponed Due To Weather

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Department's annual "Norwalk Night Out" event has been postponed to next month due to expected rainy weather, police announced Tuesday.According to a news release provided by the department, the annual event was originally scheduled to take place Thursday but will now be held Aug. 13 in front of police headquarters, located at 1 Monroe Street, "due to the anticipated forecast of heavy rain."A new rain date is scheduled for Aug. 14.According to police, the event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public.The event is a community-focused event aimed at building positive relationships between law enforcement and the residents the department serves, police said.See also: Norwalk Police To Host Annual 'Night Out' Community EventAccording to the department, attendees can look forward to a fun-filled evening that includes:A touch-a-truck area featuring city and state vehicles.Face painting, a magic show, and activities for kids.A bike raffle for children in attendance.Food and drinks donated by local businesses, served by Norwalk police officers.Numerous local vendors and community organizations on-site."Come meet the officers who serve your neighborhoods, enjoy family-friendly entertainment, and learn more about the programs and services available in Norwalk," police said in a news release.The article Norwalk Police Annual 'Night Out' Event Postponed Due To Weather appeared first on Norwalk, CT Patch.
