Former WWE World Champion Brock Lesnar has been absent from the program since last year’s WWE SummerSlam. Back then, Lesnar faced Cody Rhodes in a match where the latter emerged victorious.
Lesnar was rumored to make a return earlier this year at the Royal Rumble. However, those plans were scrapped after he got involved in Vince McMahon’s lawsuit. Since then, the promotion has avoided mentioning his name. Lesnar was also replaced on the cover of WWE 2K24’s Forty Years of WrestleMania edition with John Cena. Lesnar’s future plans have seemingly been put on hold following the lawsuit.

At the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony during Paul Heyman’s induction, Heyman mentioned Brock Lesnar in the speech. Similarly, Michael Cole brought up Lesnar’s name during the King and Queen of The Ring premium live event, surprising fans and fueling speculation about a potential return.
Ringside News contacted a source within WWE to inquire about Brock Lesnar’s status. A member of WWE’s writing team disclosed that they have lifted the ban on mentioning Lesnar’s name following Paul Heyman’s Hall of Fame speech.

With the ban on Brock Lesnar’s name lifted from WWE TV. There is a possibility that the former WWE World Champion will return to the screen. Lesnar might also be targeting top superstars on the roster.
Gunther won the tournament at King of the Ring by defeating Randy Orton in the finals. Gunther will now receive a shot at the World Heavyweight title at SummerSlam in August. However, Brock Lesnar could disrupt his plans to win the title. He might return and cost Gunther his match at SummerSlam.
This scenario could also lead to Gunther challenging Lesnar to a match at the promotion’s next premium live event, Bash in Berlin, Germany.
