With the Brewers facing elimination after dropping Game 1 of the best-of-three Wild Card series against the New York Mets, Chourio’s opposite-field blast tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning.
Chourio followed that up with another solo shot to right in the eighth inning, tying the game 3-3.
As if that wasn’t enough, the slugger also made history in Game 1.

Chourio became the youngest player in MLB history to record multiple hits in his playoff debut on Tuesday. The rising star hit a single and scored in the first inning, and then hit a game-tying RBI single in the fourth.
Chourio also made a leaping catch against the left-field wall in the fifth to take a base hit away from Starling Marte, although he missed a Tyrone Taylor line drive that he should’ve had in the same frame.
Milwaukee manager Pat Murphy had high praise for Chourio, via MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy.
“Jackson was fantastic, man,” Murphy said. “He’s 20 years old, and to play the defense he played in that setting, some of his good at-bats, he’s swinging and he’s a special player.”
Chourio, who hit .275 with 21 home runs, 79 RBI, and 22 stolen bases in his first big-league season this year, is proud of himself.
“The thing I get happy about is when a player knows he belongs, you know what I mean? ‘Hey, I belong. And in the big moments, I like being in this situation, and I expect a lot out of myself,’” Chourio said. “That translates to a really, really good, All-Star-type player.”
