Jessica Simpson Made This Curious Real Estate Move After Relocating to Nashville

In 2023, it appeared Jessica Simpson was done with the West Coast after she relocated her family to Nashville, Tennessee. It was a way for her to return to her music roots as she explored the idea of releasing a new album. She was so serious about her intentions that she put her $22 million Los Angeles estate in the swanky neighborhood of Hidden Hills on the market in September 2023.
“Being in Nashville, even my kids are like, ‘You laugh the whole time. You’re so happy,’ ” she told E! News in August 2023. “It’s because I’m not on guard. I’m with a lot of like-minded people. It’s not about the celebrities—it’s really about the music and the heart and the conversation.” Well, it looks like the 44-year-old singer has changed her mind because In Touch Weekly is reporting that she pulled her 13,274 square-foot home off the market on Aug. 2.
Ace Knute Johnson, Eric Johnson, Birdie Mae Johnson, Jessica Simpson, and Maxwell Drew Johnson celebrate the launch of Jessica Simpson’s Fall Collection with fans and a special performance by the LA Roller Girls at Nordstrom at The Grove on September 24, 2022 in Los Angeles, California.
Simpson, husband Eric Johnson, and their three children, Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5, are back in LA and attending school in the area — this is home, for now. Her decision to stay in California is also coinciding with unfounded rumors about her marriage to the former football player. Life & Style noted that Johnson hasn’t been seen on her Instagram Page since April after going through a “rocky patch” in their relationship. She even skipped giving him a 45th birthday shoutout on Sept. 15 which raised some eyebrows since fans are used to seeing her husband in her feed.
A source indicated that they’ve been estranged “for more than a year,” but Simpson nor Johnson have addressed any issues in their marriage publicly. “They both really want what’s best for their children, but as far as their marriage goes, you fear it’s just a matter of time. Eric is at his breaking point,” the insider claimed.
Hopefully, the duo is working things out behind the scenes and doing what is best for their family. It looks like they are sticking to California for their home base, and Simpson is going to keep her fans waiting a little longer for that new album to materialize.
