Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow Teases Sung Jin-woo’s Return in Latest Trailer
A new teaser trailer has been released for the upcoming second season of Solo Leveling -Arise from the Shadow-, previewing the return of protagonist Sung Jin-Woo. The trailer was revealed during a Crunchyroll panel at this year’s Anime Expo.
The first 12-episode season aired on January 7, 2024 and ended on March 31, 2024.
Shunsuke Nakashige (Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory) directed the first season, with Noboru Kimura (Healer Girl, Amaim Warrior at the Borderline) as series screenwriter, Tomoko Sudo (Fragtime) as character designer, Chiaki Kozumi (Engage Kiss) as sub-character designer, Yoshihiro Kanno (Sword Art Online Progressive co-action animation director) as action director, Hirotaka Tokuda (Warlords of Sigrdrifa director) as monster designer, and Hiroyuki SAWANO (Attack on Titan Final Season co-composer) as music composer. A-1 Pictures served as the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast includes:

Solo Leveling is based on the 2016 South Korean web novel written by Chugong and illustrated by Dubu (Redice Studio). A webtoon drawn by the latter was released afterwards in 2018 and released nine total volumes. H-Goon is credited with adapting the series in later volumes of the webtoon’s Japanese publication after Dubu’s passing.

It’s been over a decade since the sudden appearance of the “gates”—the paths that connect our world with a different dimension. Since then, certain humans have awakened to supernatural powers. We call these individuals “hunters.” Hunters make their living by using their powers to conquer dungeons inside the gates. In this world of tough customers, the low-ranked hunter Jinwoo Sung is known as “the weakest hunter of all mankind.” One day, Jinwoo gets fatally injured when he runs into high-rank double dungeons hidden within a low-rank dungeon. Just then, a mysterious quest window appears in front of him.
On the verge of death, Jinwoo decides to accept the quest and starts leveling up… while the others aren’t.
