Washington County Sheriff's Office Encourages Community Engagement for National Night Out 2024
In an effort to strengthen community bonds and foster positive relationships between citizens and law enforcement, Washington County Sheriff's Office is gearing up for National Night Out 2024, scheduled for the first Tuesday of August. Following a tradition that highlights neighborhood camaraderie, the annual event is marked by gatherings aimed at promoting safer, more caring places to live.
Washington County residents are urged to coordinate social events within their communities, such as block parties, cookouts, or small festivals. These gatherings provide a venue for neighbors to connect, reinforcing community fabrics frayed by the the fast-paced demands of modern life. Participants are asked to register their gatherings with the Sheriff's Office before July 14 to include local deputies and staff in their plans.
"Building strong communities is more critical now than ever – plan a social gathering with your neighbors, then register your event with the Sheriff's Office before July 14 to invite deputies and staff to drop by," reads a statement on the Sheriff's Office website.
