Newsstand: What is the spread for the Notre Dame vs. Miami (Ohio) game?
Notre Dame football’s disappointing defeat to Northern Illinois in Week 2 has not stopped oddsmakers from making the Fighting Irish a heavy favorite against another MAC program, Miami (Ohio), in Week 4.
On Sunday, Circa Sports released its odds for this week’s slate. Coach Marcus Freeman’s program opened as a 27-point favorite against coach Chuck Martin and the Red Hawks. The over/under total is 43½ points.
Saturday’s line is similar to the one Circa Sports initially set before the Irish took on the NIU Huskies. Notre Dame opened as a 28-point favorite in that contest. However, by losing outright, it failed to cover the spread for the only time this season. The Irish went under the point total in its first two outings but exceeded it last week.
Miami (Ohio) is coming off a 27-16 loss to Cincinnati last Saturday. It has not covered the spread in either of its first two games while finishing under the points total.
Kickoff for Saturday’s game between No. 17 Notre Dame and Miami (Ohio) Is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
