B&B's Lisa Yamada on the "Crazy Shift" of Finn Being Luna's Father! (EXCLUSIVE)
The question of who is Luna’s father on The Bold & The Beautiful has finally been answered, and now she has learned the shocking truth herself. Luna may have wanted Bill to be her father and was afraid that Tom was, but now it turns out that it’s actually the man she thought was her cousin, Finn!
“I don’t think there’s a rulebook on how Luna can navigate this roller coaster of emotions,” Lisa Yamada admitted to Soaps In Depth of her character’s reaction to this shocking twist. “I think she just has to take it step by step. I mean, finding out the father you’ve longed for your entire life has actually been your cousin this whole time? That’s insane. And it’s not like she has friends or a mom to lean on. I’m sure Bill will try to help her with her feelings in any way he can but is anyone really equipped to help someone going through something like this?
“I think Luna’s going to need a psych evaluation from Dr. Taylor Hayes after this,” she added with a laugh. “I have to say, I’m so glad I just portray Luna and don’t personally live her life because the B&B universe is filled with so much drama and emotions every day! But hey, that’s what makes the show so entertaining.”

Now that Finn and Luna know that they are father and daughter, the former cousins are going to have to adjust to their new normal, which may prove somewhat challenging… for him anyway! “I think it’s such a crazy shift to go from seeing someone as your cousin to now realizing they’re your father,” Yamada mused. “But Luna’s been waiting her entire life for this moment, so I’m sure she’ll be able to see Finn with new eyes. It definitely helps that she’s seen how amazing Finn is as a dad to Hayes and Kelly. She’s definitely sad that she missed out on a relationship like the one Hayes and Kelly have with Finn during her childhood. Fin has always been such a great guy in Luna’s life, so she couldn’t be more elated that he’s her father.
“I think the biggest question now is how difficult it’s going to be for Finn to see Luna as his daughter instead of his cousin,” she continued. “Because we all know, Luna’s not exactly the most ideal daughter!”

Luna has blamed her crimes on her upbringing, raised without a father by a mother who was all over the place and took drugs. But the actress isn’t sure that finally knowing the truth is actually going to make things better.
“I think Luna’s daddy issues will always be there to some extent,” Yamada predicted. “She’s spent more time in her life not knowing who her father is than actually knowing, so it’s definitely a deep wound that’s going to take time to heal. There’s a part of me that thinks maybe Finn being her father will actually make it harder for her to heal?
“There are so many factors at play,” she went on. “Yes, she finally knows who her dad is, but now she has to deal with the fact that her mom’s been lying to her for years, and she missed out on the childhood she always dreamed of because of it. On top of that, she now has to explore the new dynamic between her and Finn. Is she going to be able to have the father/daughter relationship with him that she’s always wanted? Or is she just going to have to watch him be a great dad to Hayes and Kelly from the sidelines because of the crimes she’s committed and what she did to Steffy?”
