Manchester Mother Charged with Reckless Operation for Speeding at 112 mph with Unrestrained Children
A New Hampshire mother has been arrested and faces multiple charges for allegedly driving her SUV at a dangerous 112 mph with her two young children unrestrained, officials said. According to the New Hampshire State Police, 23-year-old Shirley Stanley was spotted on Friday night by a state trooper as she raced down Route 101 in Manchester, her vehicle weaving through traffic.
The incident, which unfolded around 9:17 p.m., saw Stanley charged with reckless operation, endangering the welfare of a child, violating required child passenger restraints, and several other related offenses. Upon being pulled over, the trooper discovered her children, ages 1 and 4, in the SUV without any type of child restraint system. The NBC Boston report detailed that Stanley was taken into custody and has since been released on personal recognizance bail. She is expected to appear in Candia District Court on June 10.
