Northbrook Man Charged In Crash That Killed Glenview Teen: Police
GLENVIEW, IL — An arrest has been made in a crash that killed a Glenview teenager last weekend. Taeyoung Kim. 21, of the 3700 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, faces a number of charges stemming from a car crash Sunday night where Marko Niketic, 17, a Glenbrook South senior died from his injuries. According to police, Kim is charged with the following:2 counts of aggravated driving under the influence causing deathreckless homicideaggravated DUI causing great bodily harmDUI alcoholDUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or moreDUI drugsspeeding (35+mph)reckless drivingdriving without lights when requiredimproper lane usagefailure to reduce speed to avoid an accidentKim is due in court Saturday for a conditions hearing.RELATED: GBS Student Dead, 2 Critically Injured In Glenview Crash: PolicePolice said an investigation has revealed that at 11:08 p.m. May 12, Kim drove his vehicle westbound on East Lake Avenue at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner. He struck Niketic's car near the intersection of East Lake Avenue and Meadow Lane.
