Local standout DL Randy Adirika recaps Miami Hurricanes official visit with decision to come in near future: “They showed a lot of love”
Miami (Fla.) Central four-star defensive lineman Randy Adirika has had high interest in the Hurricanes over the last two years. So his official visit to Coral Gables this weekend was a moment the No. 404 overall prospect in the 2025 class has been waiting on.
And it went as well as he’d hoped.
OFFICIAL VISIT RECAPS: SJ Alofaituli … Herbert Scroggins … USC commit Hylton Stubbs … Jarquez Carter … DL Randy Adirika …Iose Epenesa …Commit Elijah Melendez
“I enjoyed the visit, they showed a lot of love,” said Adirika, who was hosted by former teammate Armondo Blount. “What they have to offer as a program, I love it. It was a deep dive to show the University of Miami, wasn’t a regular quick visit in and out, it was more time emphasizing about UM.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound defensive tackle concluded his June official visits with his trip to Miami this weekend after visiting USC June 7 and Penn State June 14 and is maintaining communication with Mississippi State and Colorado. Adirika expects to announce a commitment by early July, and possibly even before this month is out.
“Miami stacks up among the better visits I’ve had, the other two official visits were amazing (also),” Adirika said. “I’m happy I picked these schools (to visit).”
Adirika says coaches laid out the plan for him “to develop as a football player and after football.”
“After football being able to do something with your live when fooball is over is a big part of what I want to do,” Adirika said. “For them to hit on those keys was important.”
CaneSport’s Take
We’re getting down to crunch time for Adirika, who has remained high on the Hurricanes throughout much of his recruitment and has built strong connections with head coach Mario Cristobal, defensive line coach Joe Salave’a and several other off-field members of Miami’s recruiting class. The Hurricanes are still yet to land a commitment from a defensive line prospect this cycle but are continuing to look to bulk up in the trenches. We feel the Canes are in a good spot here.
Adirika also said that Blount was talking to him about “how we can play together again, keep playing with each other.” Adirika said that Blount “said they work hard there just like at Central, that you get acclimated, used to it and you’ll be alright.” Adirika said along with Blount that former teammate Rueben Bain “helped me on the field, off the field” when they played together and that Adirika already has a sense of comfortability around a lot of Miami players. “That does play a factor,” he said.
