DC revives Jenny Sparks of the Authority for her own solo series - facing off against a major DC hero
The Authority is, to borrow the title of its first storyline, relentless. Originally created in 1998 as a post-modern superhero team of the then-incoming new century, in many ways the series - and the heroes that made up the team - was ahead of its time. But now here in 2024, its time is almost now.With a live-action feature film under James Gunn's DC Studios banner for the Authority now very publicly in the works, the founder and original leader of the team, Jenny Sparks, is returning to comics in order to save her world - even if some of DC's biggest heroes would stand in her way.This August, DC will launch Jenny Sparks - a six-issue adult-oriented comic book series revitalizing the hero. And who is behind the series? DC's defacto top writer Tom King - who splits his time between DC's comic book output and DC Studios these days - along with Batman: Brave & The Bold artist Jeff Spokes (coloring his own work as well), and letterer Clayton Cowles.
