VEGAS MUSIC ROUNDUP: Next at Sphere … Zac Brown? EDC Map Dropped
Zac Brown stunned Las Vegas observers by announcing that his Zac Brown Band will be the next to ascend to a vaunted residency at the Sphere. Not Harry Styles, as previously rumored. Not the Eagles. Not Beyonce.

“It’s the greatest canvas ever created, and to be one of the first bands to go in there and do it, this is our masterpiece,” Brown said during an appearance on comedian Theo Von’s YouTube podcast this week. “This is our chance to show what we can really do as a band.”
The Sphere was inaugurated last fall with a residency by U2, followed by a brief occupation by Phish. Next up on its calendar will be Dead & Company, May 16-July 13.
The internet’s reaction to Brown’s announcement has been the equivalent of a loud, quizzical head tilt.
“They are good but not Sphere good,” Twitter/X user @elbogz commented beneath a tweet from @vegasstarfish, the Vegas influencer who broke the story.
“Another pass for me,” noted @gootecks. “Pretty funny they always post asking what we want and all requests are ignored.”
“I don’t know who Zac Brown is,” added @1BethDutton.
For @1BethDutton’s benefit, Brown is a 45-year-old country singer, active since 2004, whose band has sold 9 million albums and 20 million singles, and won three Grammys including Best New Artist in 2010.
EDC Trip Guide
The Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) released a festival map via Instagram on Friday.
The map reveals the location of the stages, themed zones, and other attractions marking this year’s edition of the electronic dance music (EDM) festival, which will use pretty much every available inch of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from May 17-19.
EDC promises nine stages of trippy EDM acts, including Diplo, Steve Aoki, Dom Dolla, deadmau5, DJ Nake, and Subtronics, along with carnival rides, themed zones, and one hell of an expensive trip there and back if you plan to take a rideshare or a taxi.
Three-day passes are still available. The cheapest we could find were $439 before fees and taxes at Vivid Seats.
