Charles Woodson gives epic pep talk to Packers with Jordan Love hurt before win
Charles Woodson gave the Green Bay Packers extra motivation before their victory against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. During the Fox NFL Kickoff, the former Packers defensive back shared his pep talk to Green Bay with Jordan Love out with an injury.
“If I’m talking to my Packers, I’m channeling the late, great Kevin Greene talking to Clay Matthews in the Super Bowl. Your leader is down. It’s your time now, so who’s going to be the Clay Matthews to cause a fumble when we need it? Who’s going to be Tramon Williams and knock down that last pass to seal the game? Who’s going to be Greg Jennings to put the team on his back?

“Look, the last time I checked, we still have the best young receiver according to all of football. We have a running back who led the league in rushing. We got playmakers on the back end, we got dogs on the defensive line. But who’s going to be the guy that steps up and be the leader on our team when we need him to be? …Step up and be the leader and make the play when we need it.”
The pep talk helped as the Packers defeated the Colts 16-10 without Love. Malik Willis stepped in at QB and threw for 122 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 41. Josh Jacobs had a huge afternoon, rushing for 151 yards, and the defense forced three turnovers.

After the game, Charles Woodson reacted to the Packers victory. “Good win Packers,” Woodson wrote on X. It’s likely the Pro Football Hall of Famer was impressed with linebacker Eric Wilson as he forced a fumble and recorded an interception.
“It feels great because I’m a linebacker first,” Wilson said after the game, per Packers.com. “To go out there and fly around, try to get the ball out. … It’s just a matter of getting population to the ball. That’s why running to the ball is so dang important. It’s fun.”
Love suffered a knee injury in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil. It’s not clear if he will be ready to go when the Packers take on the Tennessee Titans next Sunday.
