The Challenge Details Season 40 fights

Things have not been smooth sailing for Cara Maria Sorbello on The Challenge. The hit reality TV show has been around since 1998 with one of the most interesting premises ever. It focuses on a group of familiar faces from the entertainment world competing against each other in challenges that are both mental and physical. Winning this show means taking home a cash prize at the end, which is a hugely motivating factor for all the contestants. The drama Cara’s been through while filming Season 40 hasn’t been rainbows and butterflies, though.
Cara Maria Sorbello And Laurel Stucky Are Beefing
Cara and Laurel Stucky have been butting heads, big time. Episode 5 is when things got really dramatic because Cara and Laurel went off on each other in front of the cameras. Laurel screamed at Cara so intensely that Cara broke down sobbing. In the teaser clip for Episode 6, Laurel speaks about the fight saying:
“There definitely has been some turmoil. I’ve been the center of it. I apologized to my whole team for what happened. I did not want it to get to that level. The most important thing moving forward today is that we are a team. I think that this team right here has the capacity to kick a**, and I still believe in that.”

Cara also gave her two cents, alluding to the fact that she’s not willing to stoop to Laurel‘s level. She said, “I’m not gonna lie. After what happened, I was like, ‘I’m not gonna do anything. I’m just gonna sit at the starting line. I’m not gonna do s***. Why am I gonna fight for someone like that?’ But then I thought about it. Maybe she’s thrown challenges in the past when it came to me, but I don’t have that in my character, and I will not be like her.”
Additionally, Cara took to Instagram to describe an “awkward” team huddle and apology moment from Laurel. That apology clearly didn’t count for much. It’s unlikely the looming issues between these reality TV stars will be resolved anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean either one is willing to throw in the towel. Quitting would mean giving up on their chances of winning the cash prize. In Season 40, winners pocket their share of the $1 million fund.
The Challenge has historically been compared to other reality TV shows like The Circle, The Mole, The Trust, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Big Brother, and Naked and Afraid. Quitting early is something you’ll occasionally see from contestants, but not often when the cash prize is appealing enough.
