Pat Sajak forces Wheel of Fortune contestant to check his teeth in zany moment days before icon host retires
A WHEEL of Fortune contestant had an unexpectedly close brush with Pat Sajak on Thursday night while celebrating getting into dental school.
The hilarious interview segment moment comes just six episodes before the iconic Pat, 77, retires as host.

Fan-favorites week raged on tonight with rapid-solver Micah, College Week standout Razel and cop Courtney who got danced on by Pat during her initial win.
All of this leads to Pat’s big sendoff episode as host after 40 years on June 7, 2024.
And speaking of up-close interactions, Razel got an impromptu dental visit from Pat during her interview.
Pat mentioned how Razel has “realized her goals” since last competing and graduating from college.
Razel was proud to update fans on what she’s been up, declaring with a cheer, “I got into dental school!”
“Yay!” Pat declared as Razel elaborated, “Yep, I am a dental student – and…”
Then, Pat cut her off and he walked over to her place at the wheel.
He did so while holding his mouth open for a pseudo check-up.
“Oh…” she said as Pat approached, just inches from her face while pointing to his lower molar.
“Could you just look at this real quick?” he requested.
Razel nervously laughed, enjoying the off-the-cuff moment as Pat then quickly shuffled back to his post.
Meanwhile, it was Courtney who wound up grinning with a $17,000 victory, though she could not crack the bonus round puzzle worth an extra $40,000.

‘DON’T YOU DO THAT’
Pat’s last two weeks as host of Wheel of Fortune have been some of the zaniest in history.
On Wednesday, Larry went through a whirlwind of emotions after losing an $100,000 bonus prize in an excruciatingly minor mixup.
The “Phrase” puzzle read as “M ‘_ _ ST’ ‘S_ _ _ _ M _ ‘ ‘_ _ _ ‘ and the 10-second timer began – Larry confidently guessed, “I’m Just Showing Out.”
The timer ran out as Vanna White, 66, stomped her foot in disappointment as it was revealed to be “I’m just showing off.”
“Dont do it, dont do it,” Larry exclaimed as he realized he had missed the correct answer by just the last word.
Pat revealed he lost out on $100,000 or the highest prize on the wheel and Larry justifiably flipped out.
He walked nearly off-stage, exclaiming, “Don’t you do that today.”
He waved his arms back at Pat and said, “That was the confetti” imagining his prize win in an alternate timeline.
He finally came back to stand next to Pat when he had collected himself.
‘COME ON’
On Monday, a player forced host Pat to step in and stop the show after he prematurely celebrated solving a puzzle.
Returning contestant Cynthia quickly solved the first two puzzles, raking in $4,000.
She was stumped on the third, however, which allowed Rufus to deliver a response.
“Don’t look away!” he confidently guessed.
The players all celebrated and reached out his hand for a fist bump, thinking he had aced it.
However, not everyone was so celebratory as Pat yelled, “No! No!”
The trio was confused to learn it wasn’t the right answer.
“It’s not correct!” the longtime host yelled.
“Everybody’s congratulating everybody, and we get to keep the money,” Pat quipped, trying to get things back on track.
NO IF, ANDS OR BUTTS
This isn’t the first time a Wheel of Fortune mistake has captured the masses in just the past few days.
During the May 23 episode, a contestant delivered the X-rated guess heard around the world.
The episode kicked off with a $1,000 Toss Up, as letters began slowly appearing, Marcus buzzed in with his infamous wrong answer.
“Right in the butt?” he suggested.
The live audience, the show’s host, and his fellow competitors gasped.
“No,” Pat replied after realizing what the contestant had guessed.
Competitor Tyra blurted out, “What?!” as the third player, Blake, buzzed in with the right answer.
“This is the best!” he said.
Marcus cringed and clapped supportively for his co-star, saying, “Much better answer.”
On social media, one fan reacted to the hilarious moment with, “Welcome to the Wheel of Fortune Hall of Fame.”
PAT’S ALL FOLKS
Wheel of Fortune host Pat is in his final few episodes before retiring from the game show next month.
Pat’s last episode will air on June 7 and is fittingly titled “Thanks For The Memories.”
The show has not shared if Pat’s farewell will be an all-out tribute with memories from over the years or simply business as usual with a goodbye at the end.
The episode will be a TV milestone as the host has spun out puzzles and prizes alongside Vanna White, 66, since 1981 and 1982 respectively.
When asked by TVInsider how long she thinks she’ll remain with the game show, Vanna replied on Monday, “I don’t know.
“When I heard that Pat was retiring, I thought maybe I should retire too, but I’m not ready!’
“We’ll see toward the end of those two years how I feel.
“I thank God after all these years that I still love my job.”
Ryan Seacrest, 49, was selected as Pat’s replacement last year shortly after Pat announced he’d be leaving.
That said, fans have shared mixed feelings about the decision.
On social media, one dedicated viewer claimed that the American Idol star has “big shoes to fill” regarding the WoF star’s beloved humor.
The show airs weekdays at 7:30 pm ET on ABC, so fans can catch his sendoff on June 7 at that time.
