IL Lottery Player Wins $10M On Scratch-Off Ticket
ALTON, IL — Since the $50 scratch-off ticket game was launched last December, no one had won its top prize of $10 million, that is, until now. According to Illinois Lottery officials, the winning scratch-off ticket was purchased at Casey's convenience store, Alton, a city on the Mississippi River about 18 miles north of St. Louis."Something about the $10 Million game was sticking out to me," said the lucky winner, who has requested to stay anonymous. "I wasn't in a hurry to scratch it off, I waited until I got home. You could say, 'I never in '10 million' years thought I'd win the top prize."This is also a big win for Casey’s in Alton, as the store will receive a selling bonus of one percent of the prize amount, or $100,000.Officials said the game has three $10 million top prizes, which means there are still two other top prizes available. (Illinois Lottery)When asked what they plan to do with their newfound fortune, the newly-minted millionaire told Illinois Lottery officials, "The first thing I plan to do is start a college fund for my daughter. We also love going to car shows, so we're thinking about buying a bigger house with more garage space to indulge in our favorite hobby — buying vintage cars."Officials said the game has three $10 million top prizes, which means there are still two other top prizes available. The article IL Lottery Player Wins $10M On Scratch-Off Ticket appeared first on Across Illinois, IL Patch.
