I used to hate my frizzy, thinning hair – my weekly DIY oil has transformed it into thick, glossy locks

A BEAUTY expert has revealed the DIY treatment she makes every week that helps her hair grow thick and glossy.
Star Khechara, 48, has managed to get rid of a “halo” of frizz on the top of her head and reverse signs of thinning thanks to her homemade oil.

And according to Star, her hair has never looked as good as it does now.
She said: “I used to hate my hair. I used to wake up with frizz, loads of breakage, my hair was always just wild and untamed and always got little knots at the back.
“No matter what I did, it didn’t stop.
“The only time my hair ever looked good was right after the hair salon when I got it dyed, but I’ve stopped dyeing my hair.
“I would also have to use two different serums on it daily to make it look half decent.”
Fed up with her tired locks, Star – nicknamed the Age Hacker thanks to her skin and hair tips – started oiling it once a week with a homemade concoction.
She revealed: “I make all of my own products and started making my own rosemary oil.
“The secret is using jojoba oil as your base to dilute the rosemary essential oil because it’s not technically an oil, it’s a liquid wax, and it’s the only oil proven to absorb into the hair shaft.
“So it actually gets right into the hair rather than just being absorbed into the skin via the hair follicle.”
She added: “I do it weekly and I leave it on all day. I put it on in the morning and wash it out at night.
“It’s taken about six weeks, but on week five my hair just started looking amazing.
“It stays amazing for the entire week. I used to have this halo of frizz and short hairs that would stick up everywhere, and it just looks glossy all the time.”
To recreate Star’s DIY product, she says all you have to do is add a two per cent dilution of rosemary essential oil into jojoba oil.
As a guide, you should use about 40 drops of essential oil per 100ml of jojoba oil.
Star also revealed that a simple diet tweak has helped her grow “lush, thick hair” even in perimenopause.
The anti-ageing expert insists that our skin and hair need to be fed internally, not just by applying products.
She says: “You can prevent or at least slow down hair-thinning in perimenopause by following a hormone-balancing functional plant-based diet rich in phytoestrogens and phytochemicals.
“My hair is almost down to my bouncy rump and has never been this long since I was a child!!
“My hair used to badly split and break until I started feeding it within using my own Facelift Diet methods and now I have the longest thickets hair I’ve ever had despite being 48.”
And her big secret? Eating more fruit.
Star dubs fruit as “the underdog of food” as “there are things in fruit that aren’t even in vegetables”.
When it comes to hair in particular, the beauty pro says the humble mango is key to getting your locks to grow.
She told us: “Mango is the hair fruit! It’s super rich in pro vitamin A (beta carotene) which is essential for building keratin, the strong hard protein that hair is built from.”
You can pick up a full mango for as little as 95p in Tesco or Asda, making it a very cheap beauty hack.
And it doesn’t just help your hair either, as Star added that Vitamin A is also one of the top skin vitamins for healthy skin.
“Beta carotene also mitigates the effects if sun damage in the skin”, she continued.

The Facelift Diet
Star is the pioneer of the Facelift Diet.
“The Facelift Diet is basically a fruit-centric and plant-based anti-ageing diets,” she explained to Fabulous earlier this year.
“It’s about eating anti-ageing foods in abundance.
“It’s not restrictive or calorie counting or anything.
“Certain foods have rejuvenating properties and you can slow down ageing with your diet.”
And revealing her shopping list essential from the supermarket, she said: “It’s all about fruit.
“If you take anything away from this, eat more fruit.
“There are things in fruit that aren’t even in vegetables.
“It’s the underdog of food groups.”
