My Happy Marriage Season 2 Reveals Teaser Trailer, Premieres in January 2025

Miyo and Kiyoka fans can look forward to January 2025, as that’s when the second season of My Happy Marriage will premiere on Netflix.
A teaser trailer previewing the couple’s fraught encounter with Kiyoka’s parents and the Gifted Communion sect’s leader Naoshi Usui, as well as a contrastively pleasant teaser visual, were released in addition to the premiere date announcement. The parents, Tadakiyo and Fuyu Kudo, are voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu and Kikuko Inoue, while Naoshi is voiced by Yuya Uchida.
Another reveal was that Made in Abyss director Masayuki Kojima, who storyboarded and directed My Happy Marriage Season 1’s fifth episode (and storyboarded its seventh episode), is joining Takehiro Kubota as co-director for Season 2.
My Happy Marriage‘s first season premiered on July 5 2023. The anime is based on the KADOKAWA-published light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka. Yen Press describes the books as:
IS THIS MARRIAGE A BLESSING? OR A CURSE?
Born talentless to a noble family famous for their supernatural abilities, Miyo Saimori is forced into an existence of servitude by her abusive stepmother. When Miyo finally comes of marriageable age, though, her hopes of being whisked away to a better life crumble after she discovers her fiancé’s identity: Kiyoka Kudou, a commander apparently so cold and cruel that his previous would-be brides all fled within three days of their engagements. With no home to return to, Miyo resigns herself to her fate—and soon finds that her pale and beautiful husband-to-be is anything but the monster she expected. As they slowly open their hearts to each other, both realize the other may be their chance at finding true love and happiness.

The light novels are published under the Fujimi L Bunko imprint and began publication in January 2019. There are eight volumes as of March 2024. The series has inspired a Square Enix-published manga drawn by Rito Kosaka and a live-action movie adaptation.
