Hender Scheme’s $1,437 USD Bespoke Jenga Uses Tanned Leather Blocks
Hender Scheme is perhaps best known for its footwear, though the Japanese brand dabbles in homeware from time to time, using its signature leather to elevate everyday objects ranging from clocks to desk lamps to rolling trays. Its latest creation isn’t exactly a home good but rather the popular game Jenga, which uses stacked wooden blocks to build a tower from which players must extract one by one without making the tower topple over. The Hender Scheme treatment of the “Leather Tower Game” swaps out the typical wooden blocks for fine leather. Each hand-cut block uses a mix of real cow leather and vegetable leather, layered on top of one another. Each block is embossed with the Hender Scheme logo and the Jenga is packaged in a leather case for convenient transportation. The price to play isn’t cheap. Sold through HAVEN’s online store, Hender Scheme’s “Leather Tower Game” retails for $1,437 USD.
