Fortnite Reload: New Mode, New Map, Classic Weapons & More
Fortnite Reload is here and it’s bringing in classic weapons, iconic locations, and nostalgic vibes. Here is everything you need to know about this OG mode.
Fortnite Reload Release Date – June 22, 2024
Fortnite Reload went live on Saturday, June 22, 2024, after the Metallica concert live event. As of now, Epic has not said anything about how long this game mode will be available.
What is Fortnite Reload
According to the Fortnite team, Fortnite Reload is a brand-new Battle Royale experience designed to evoke nostalgia among players. It features a new map, a variety of fan-favorite classic weapons and locations, with no vehicles, and the new twist in this mode, endless revives.
The mode involves 40 players divided into 10 squads, and it is available in both Zero Build and standard Battle Royale formats. Uniquely, players can continuously respawn during matches as long as at least one member of their squad remains alive.
In Fortnite Reload, you must quickly knock out all members of a team to eliminate them. If you leave even one member alive for too long, the eliminated teammates will respawn and rejoin the fight. To successfully eliminate a team, ensure you take out every member swiftly and simultaneously, preventing any of them from respawning.
How To Play Fortnite Reload
To access this game mode, players simply need to navigate to the main Lobby menu, select the Fortnite Reload mode within the Discover section and hit the “Play” button.
It’s important to note that this game mode is squad-based, meaning you will be playing in a team consisting of four members. You have the option to form a squad with your friends, ensuring you play together. Alternatively, you can use the Fill feature, which automatically adds other players to your squad if you don’t have a full team. If you prefer to play with fewer than four players, you can use the No Fill feature, which prevents the game from adding any additional players to your team, allowing you to play with a smaller, self-selected group.
Fortnite Reload Mechanics – Auto Respawn
This mode emphasizes aggressive plays and quick thinking with its unique reboot system. When a player is eliminated, their reboot timer starts, beginning at 30 seconds and increasing to 40 seconds later in the match. To add a strategic layer, remaining teammates can actively reduce reboot timers: downing an opponent decreases the timer by 2 seconds, eliminating an opponent cuts it by 4 seconds, and wiping an opposing squad shaves off a significant 10 seconds. Additionally, downed players have the option to start their reboot timer immediately instead of waiting for a revive. However, as the match progresses towards its end, reboots will cease altogether, meaning lost teammates won’t be able to return.
When a player is successfully rebooted, they spawn back into the game with a common Assault Rifle and 100 Wood (if Building is available). Conversely, if a player is eliminated, they drop Small Shield Potions, medium ammo, light ammo, shotgun shells, all their loot, and for Building purposes, 50 of each building material.
Fortnite Reload Map and POI Locations
The map in Fortnite Reload features nine Points of Interest (POIs), seamlessly blending classic locations with remixed versions of past favorites. The Reload island offers a mini-OG experience, filled with nostalgic spots on a more compact scale. Iconic locations like Tilted Towers and Retail Row are ready for you to drop into, with significantly reduced distances between them. This smaller map design enhances the action, as the storm moves much faster, keeping players constantly on the move.
