Patriots to honor players, coaches who won Super Bowl over Seahawks
FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — There was 0:26 left on the clock. The Seahawks were on the one-yard line with a 28-24 lead over the Patriots. All signs pointed to Seattle winning Super Bowl XLIX.
The ball is snapped. QB Russell Wilson turns to his right and throws a dart to Ricardo Lockette at the goal line ...
... but rookie cornerback Malcolm Butler jumped the route and picked off the pass — securing New England's fourth title.

Fans won't soon forget the drama of that day, and they'll be able to relive it this Sunday as the Patriots host the Seahawks for their home opener at Gillette Stadium.
The team announced Thursday that it's invited all the players and coaches to take part in a halftime ceremony marking 10 years since that championship season.
Butler will serve as Keeper of the Light, ringing the bell atop the stadium's lighthouse before the team is introduced ahead of the game. The tradition started last year when Tom Brady returned for the season opener.
"It's an honor to come back and celebrate with my teammates and the fans who have supported us throughout the years," Butler said in a press release. "That game was a defining moment in all of our careers, and it's something we will never forget."

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
