Konami wants to “preserve the Metal Gear series for 10 or 50 years into the future”

Ever since Konami and Hideo Kojima parted ways, the Metal Gear Solid publisher has not known what to do with the beloved series. Finally, it seems the team have settled on faithfully remaking the older games – starting with MGS3. According to Konami more remakes could be on the way as “we need to create a path to preserve the Metal Gear series for 10 or 50 years into the future.”
In a recent interview conducted by the Japanese publication Famitsu (and translated by Genki_JPN), the producer for the Metal Gear Solid series – Noriaki Okamura – spoke on the possibility of future MGS titles, claiming that if they wanted to remake the first two entries they would have to take a different approach with it.

That said, it seems future remakes are on the card, with Okamura revealing that Konami is not planning to release any new entries in the series until its legacy has been full preserved, saying:
“Before everyone who was involved in the original is gone, we need to create a path to preserve the Metal Gear series for 10 or 50 years into the future. I think this is something we have to do.”
The Metal Gear Solid series has been in limbo for almost a decade now, and so it is encouraging at the very least to see Konami trying to honour its legacy properly.
KitGuru says: What do you think of this statement? Which MGS game would you most like to see remade next? Let us know down below. The post Konami wants to “preserve the Metal Gear series for 10 or 50 years into the future” first appeared on KitGuru.
