2024 NBA Free Agency Thread: Who’s headed to Brooklyn?
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports
Don’t expect too many fireworks in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Nets started the offseason with a bang by trading franchise centerpiece Mikal Bridges across the river in a shocking, yet necessary move. They followed up by re-signing Nic Claxton to a $100 million deal on Draft Night.
Ever since, it’s been relatively quiet... all things considered.
Today, starting at 12:01 p.m. ET, NBA free agency not only “officially” begins, but teams can officially:
Finalize trades.
Rookie-scale contracts can be extended.
Veteran contracts can also be extended.
The clock on offer sheets begin.
Keep those notifications on but don’t expect a flurry. The Nets face a long road with a rebuild ahead and they already have 13 players under contract — $13 million below the luxury tax threshold. Talk about a rarity.
Enjoy!
