Man Arrested In Deadly Hillcrest Assault

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was arrested after strangling another man and hitting his head against the ground in front of a gas station in San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood, police said.The assault was reported at 4:54 p.m. Saturday at a gas station at 330 Washington St., according to the San Diego Police Department. Responding officers found the a 61-year-old man unconscious in front of the business. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said. The victim was identified as Jerry Puerile.Police found the suspect, Solomon Guerrero, 55, near the intersection of West Washington and Albatross streets.
