Papa Bill’s dementia got worse, and he even forgot who she was. Katie then revealed that Papa Bill was put under hospice care. Katie’s vlog comes before the obituary of Papa Bill surfaced. It states that Papa Bill died at the Rainey Hospice House on May 13, 2025. This made many people worry for Mama Jane, who has never left her husband’s side since they got married.

Lawson Breaks Silence Amid Mama Jane’s Cancer
Lawson Bates recently took to YouTube to share a vlog at his grandparents’ house. The vlog still featured Papa Bill, meaning that the video was taken a few days before he passed. One of the updates Lawson shared was about Mama Jane’s cancer battle. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, it was Mama Jane’s 15th treatment when he was recording the vlog, adding that she’s been a warrior throughout the process. However, Lawson admitted that it has drastically affected Mama Jane’s physical and mental state. Mama Jane was thankful for all the prayers she had received, telling fans not to stop praying.

Mama Jane’s treatment was successful. Moments later, Lawson had some chats with Papa Bill, who forgot who he was. Due to this, Lawson had to introduce himself to him, including his great-grandson, William. Sadly, it seems it was Lawson’s final moments with his grandfather.
