Woman Slams Rihanna’s London-Based Fenty Hair Pop-Up Salon For Alleged Horrible Service & Botched Silk Press: ‘It Was A Sham’
A woman’s dream appointment at Rihanna’s London-based Fenty Hair pop-up salon quickly turned into a nightmare.
Earlier this month Rihanna’s Fenty Hair opened a pop-up at Selfridges to celebrate its debut in the UK department store. The temporary salon is scheduled to provide services for the public until September 28. However, one person who might advise you against checking out the pop-up is beauty influencer Oghosa.
Rihanna
On Wednesday (Sep. 11), the content creator shared on TikTok why her trip to Rihanna’s pop-up salon for a silk press wasn’t what she expected. According to Oghosa, despite what has been advertised, the salon does not cater to all hair types. The problems started right away, with the hairstylist (who Oghosa noted was Black) allegedly not bothering to do a proper consultation. Oghosa claimed,
“She didn’t once ask me a question about my hair, not a single question. She wasn’t interested in my hair before she actually started pulling out the products. There wasn’t any consultation at all.”

Part 1 Saw fenty hair salon in selfridges on tiktok and some black girls i know went and had an amazing time. Unfortunately my stylist did not seem trained in natural hair care and wasnt professional at all. This is a lil disappointing from a brand thats supposed to be a force gor diversity and inclusion. We need to do better. Black women and black kinky hair deserves better. 4c haor should NOT be treated like a chore or like a coarse hard thing to be dominated with force and pain. @Fenty Hair #blackhair #blackgirltok #fentyhair

The TikToker then shared that the stylist “didn’t know how to blow dry natural hair” and the majority of her roots were not blown out correctly. The stylist also allegedly refused to straighten Oghosa’s roots and caught an attitude when the issues were brought to her attention, purportedly saying,
“Listen your hair is natural so that’s why it’s going to be harder for you. …If you’re hair was relaxed like mine then it wouldn’t be that bad.”
Oghosa
Unfortunately, the stylist’s (alleged) remarks made Oghosa feel like an “inconvenience” simply for having natural hair. She continued,
“The way she spoke to me made me feel like I was just wasting her time because I had natural hair. I felt so like…’Oh, you ugly, nappy-headed girl. Why did you think you were going to come here and have a nice style session?'”
In the second part of her story, Oghosa said the entire experience “was an absolute sham.” She also slammed the stylist one final time for slapping Fenty edge control on her non-straightened edges that “left white residue” and made her hair “sticky,” “clumpy,” and “itchy.”
Addressing Fenty Hair, she added,
“Fenty Hair, super disappointing. If you say that you are a hair salon and a hair care provider that is for all textures then be that. If you can’t do it then don’t say that you can do it.”

Part 2. Fenty hair salon experience having 4c natural curls. The salon is a pop up in selfridges but because the brand champions diversity and inclusion that needs to be included in every part of the business and its ventures. Black hair shoukdnt be the last consideration when formulating hair products. Please do better @Fenty Hair #blackhair #4chairstyles
