Kaeden Kent explains what fan support means for Texas A&M
There are plenty of heros on Texas A&M‘s side after a Game 1 College World Series Finals win against Tennessee. Kaden Kent is certainly one of them, once again coming through in the clutch on the offensive end. Kent finished with three hits and four RBIs, including a two-run home run.
But if you were to ask Kent who has helped the Aggies the most, it’s the fans. The 12th Man as they are called, Kent discussed the fan’s impact on the game, supporting Texas A&M no matter the scenario. Having fans behind the team allows for great performances.

“It menas so much,” Kent said in his postgame interview with ESPN’s Kris Budden. “These fans support us until the very end, win or lose. To be able to pull out a win, our team played amazing. Ryan (Prager) pitched a great game, it was a fun game.”
Kent himself fed off the crowd, having a great night at the plate. Despite being in the bottom third of the order, not many in the Texas A&M lineup are producing like the second basemen. All of this without the program’s start player, Braden Montgomery, too.
When asked how he is delivering on the big stage, Kent says he is just on a hot streak right now. Baseball is a strange sport at times and Kent is just thankful to be playing well at the right time.
“It’s just the repition of hours on hours,” Kent said. “Baseball is a hard game, there’s a lot of ups and downs. Right now, I’m living on an up.”
Texas A&M is just now one win away from a national championship. Never has the baseball program won one, giving head coach Jim Schlossnagle the chance to do something special. Everyone involved with the 2024 team will be remembered as heros if they can get just one more win in Omaha.
Budden wondered with history pending, how would Kent sleep tonight once getting back to the hotel?
“I may not,” Kent joked. “We’re going to celebrate for a little bit right now. And I’m sure Schloss is going to say we got one more to do. And we do.”
Game 2 of the CWS Finals is scheduled for 1 p.m. Central. Tennessee is looking to extend the series into Monday night and live to see another day. Texas A&M is hoping to dog pile and head back to the Lone Star State with some silverware.
