Fans of The Price is Right often hope they could one day find themselves on set playing the game. However, even when their dream comes true and they end up a contestant, things don’t always go as planned. Host Drew Carey recently spoke with one such fan, reminding them not to “complain” just because things didn’t completely go the way they would have liked.
Drew Carey Has Been Hosting The Price Is Right Since 2007
Carey is an actor and a comedian with a career spanning decades. Some fans were introduced to him from his namesake sitcom, The Drew Carey Show, and for hosting the U.S. version of Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Since 2007, Carey has also taken on hosting duties for The Price is Right, taking on the role from Bob Barker. Carey often puts his background in comedy to good use on the show, often making jokes with players or his co-stars. Of course, they are occasionally at their expense.

During a recent episode of the show, a contestant just finished playing the Dice Game. This game sees a contestant try to figure out the last four digits of a new car’s price by rolling the dice. If the number rolled isn’t a match, the player must determine if they are higher or lower.
That said, the player, James, appeared to have had another game in mind when they came onto the show. As Carey noted, he was wearing a T-shirt that read, “I Wanna Play Plinko.”
Carey had some fun with this, saying, “Ah, James, we’re not playing Plinko.” James didn’t seemed too deterred, noting, “That’s OK. I’m just happy to be here.” Carey then spoke to announcer George Gray, saying, “George, he says it’s OK that we’re not playing Plinko.”
Fans Also Had A Few Words For The Contestant On Social Media
James then managed to get a laugh out of Carey by saying, “Unless you have it. That’d be great. I’ll take it.” However, Gray soon announced the Dice Game.
The game actually went well for James, even earning some sixes. By the final number, James correctly guessed for than two, which won him the car.
Seeing James’ win, Carey then made the joke, “Better not complain we didn’t play Plinko. That’s all I gotta say.” He continued, “I don’t wanna hear one word about, ‘Oh, I didn’t get to play Plinko, I just won a car.'”
A clip of James’ win was shared on The Price is Right‘s YouTube channel. While there, many fans congratulated James on the impressive win. Some comments included:
“Well, looking at how today’s show went, it was another break-even show with 3 games won and a $12,000 bailout on To The Penny, but James’ win on Dice Game was the best highlight of the show with him rolling 2 6s and getting the third number right on the nose, so great work to James.”
“Awesome job here on Dice Game with 3 automatic winning rolls, and luckily, the 4th number was higher than 2!”
“Yayyy James!!!! You deserve it king!”
“James won a car playing Dice Game and gets to meet James O’Halloran in person.”
