Suspect Nabbed After Blasting Harlem Cop With Fire Extinguisher: NYPD
HARLEM, NY — Another individual allegedly involved in pulling up alongside an on-duty NYPD traffic enforcement agent in Harlem and spraying him with a fire extinguisher has been arrested, officials said.Ammar Alhesheshi, 18, was one of the three men riding in a gray sedan that approached the 43-year-old agent, who was sitting in a marked NYPD vehicle near the intersection of Saint Nicholas Ave. and W. 118th St. in Harlem, cops said.An NYPD spokesperson said that as the trio approached the police car, one passenger in the sedan discharged a fire extinguisher, blasting the agent in the face. Following the attack, the men took off on St. Nicholas Avenue, police said.Alhesheshi was arrested in the Bronx on Wednesday and has since been charged with second-degree assault, according to police. Still at large are Escarlin Polanco Gonzalez, 19, and a third unidentified man.A video shared on Instagram depicting the attack shows a front-seat passenger in the sedan holding a fire extinguisher in his lap.
