Four June Official Visits Locked in for 4-Star CB LaRue Zamorano
A little less than three months, 2025 Corona (CA) Centennial CB LaRue Zamorano had four schools standing out, and USC wasn’t among them.
The four schools Zamorano was feeling strongest were Arizona, Oregon, Penn State and Washington. And they were all coming after him hard.
Obviously a lot has happened since January with the crazy coaching changes we saw.
Kalen Deboer is now at Alabama, Jedd Fisch left Arizona to replace him and Demetrice Martin moved on from Oregon for Michigan State. That’s a lot to digest for a 17 year old high school football player.
USC has also emerged as a schools that’s seriously pursuing Zamorano. Since the hiring of new DC D’Anton Lynn and DB Coach Doug Belk, the Trojans have invited him to several of their top recruiting events. He’s been on campus three times since the beginning of February. That’s very telling.
The talented Husky athlete has official visits set for Michigan St. May 31 to June 2, USC June 7-9, Kansas June 14-16 and Washington June 21-23.
USC
Although we don’t expect Zamorano to commit in the near future, we believe USC may be hard to beat if they continue pursuing him as they have the past three months.
“I grew up in Los Angeles, so I’m very comfortable with them inviting me to campus and I’m very comfortable with the people,” said Zamorano. “And it really looks like I could succeed there. I love the competitiveness and the intensity of practices. I love how aggressive the players are, because I’m aggressive corner myself.
“I was out there with my dad and he really liked it too.”
It’s obvious Zamorano is a huge priority for Lincoln Riley, D’Anton Lynn, Doug Belk and USC, because he communicates with them almost every day.
“I talk to Doug Belk, D’Anton Lyn and Lincoln Riley almost on the daily,” said Zamroano.
USC pushing for a commitment?
WeAreSC asked Zamorano if USC was pushing for a commitment?
“One thousand precent,” was his reply.
Top schools
Zamorano told us he plans to commit at the beginning or end of his senior season, but that could obviously change. He did narrow the list of schools he’s considering last week.
USC, Oregon, Penn St., Michigan St., Washington, Arizona and Kansas made the cut.

On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM)
As of May 23, USC has a huge lead over Michigan St. per the On3 RPM. USC has a 90.2% shot as signing him, the Spartans are at 4.9%.
When it’s all said and done, Zamorano will favor the relationships he’s built with coaches as much as anything.
“It’s about relationships for me,” said Zamorano, the No. 447 overall prospect, No. 38 ranked cornerback and No. 39 ranked player in California. “It’s also not just about me, it’s about my parents. My parents have to be comfortable with the school that I’m going to and the coaches have to have a connection with my parents.”
Scott’s Thoughts
LaRue looks like what a USC cornerback does in 2024. He’s long, strong and a willing tackler. A coach can put him on an island with the opponents top receiver and feel really good about it. He sheds blockers well, which is vital in defending the run game.
His football instincts really stand out to me watching him on film. Maybe as good as any cornerback on the West Coast in that regard.
But he’s also explosive and fast enough to keep up with speedy receivers running go routes. Must consider the competition he faces at Centennial too, which is very strong during the preseason. The Huskies faced Mater Dei and Bishop Gorman last season, and nearly beat St. John Bosco in the playoffs.
Not much to dislike about LaRue Zamorano from my perspective, as he’s also a high character kid.
