DUI Checkpoint Scheduled Saturday In San Diego's South Bay
CHULA VISTA, CA — A DUI checkpoint is scheduled this weekend in the South Bay area of San Diego County.The checkpoint is set from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday at an undisclosed location in the city of Chula Vista, according to the Chula Vista Police Department. During the checkpoint, deputies will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes, according to the department. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road."Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk," Agent Brian Carter said.
