Woman Identified As Victim Of Fatal Manassas Crash: Police

MANASSAS, VA — A serious two-vehicle crash in Manassas killed a driver on Saturday, according to City of Manassas Police.Around 6:05 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a crash at Ashton Avenue and Godwin Drive. Officers found two vehicles with significant damage at the crash scene. Two people from one vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The only occupant of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.The victim was identified as Earline Steward, 72. At Monday's Manassas City Council meeting, Police Chief Doug Keen identified Steward as a Prince William County resident who was driving out of the city. Next-of-kin has been notified.Investigators are seeking more information in the crash, particularly dashcam video footage that may have captured the crash. The involved vehicles were a Gray Kia Forte and White Ford F550.There was no immediate word on the cause of the crash.
