Since Kody Brown lived in polygamy, two of his OG wives had to be responsible for their kids. This meant that Kody was not necessarily listed on the birth certificates of his children with Janelle Brown and Christine Brown Woolley. Christine had to get insurance for her six children on her own. This was because Kody was only legally married to his first wife, Meri Brown. They divorced in 2014, and that was when he legally tied the knot with his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, which played out on Sister Wives. He then took over the responsibilities for her five children, but the family crumbled with the OG3 leaving.

Christine was the first to exit in 2021, and she took her minor daughter, Truely, with her when she moved to Utah from Flagstaff. Then, in September 2024, Christine filed a lawsuit against Kody. She wanted child support, but because he was not on Truely’s birth certificate, a paternity test was done. Now, Christine has accidentally exposed Kody. She has a book coming out this September, and a page from it was allegedly leaked. The page was blurry, but in bold, fans could clearly see $100K in back support. This set Kody off, as he was at an airport, and supposedly was harsh to anyone who dared look at him.
The Sister Wives patriarch was all over social media, checking for the latest to come in. At the same time, Kody Brown was muttering about “controlling the narrative.” Fans may recall that when Christine said she was leaving with Truely, Kody tried to pull one over on her. He claimed Truely would go to the state and added a whole lot of lies to get his way. Kody failed, and Christine moved on.

Kody Brown has admitted that he does not trust his ex-wives and has no idea what they are capable of. Yet, he felt the need to spout legal advice as if he had a clue. Fans found that laughable, but were they surprised at how much Kody owes Christine Brown Woolley? In the early seasons of Sister Wives, Truely was rushed to the hospital and everyone feared the worst. Since she did not have insurance, Christine wound up with a $450K bill for Truely. So, where do viewers and followers stand?
