Fans Hand the Blame to Christopher Bell as Massive Tragedy Leaves Joe Gibbs Racing in Disdain
After a couple of engine failures in the recent NASCAR races, the Joe Gibbs Racing motor home also suffered a similar fate. According to a report by Toby Christie, the New Hampshire Fire Department had to spring into action in the early hours of Friday. One of the motor homes parked in the racetrack’s infield was engulfed in flames.
It was confirmed that the bus which burst out into flames was from Joe Gibbs Racing Camp. Fortunately, no one was inside the bus when the incident took place. This was a team bus used as a general meeting space, and neither the driver nor the team owner, Joe Gibbs, used it for their personal use. A video of firefighters trying to subdue the flames has now also made its way on social media platforms.
Despite the massive scare, the fire was quickly put out, and no significant damage was reported either by the team or the Motor Speedway. Interestingly, this accident happened right after Christopher Bell accidentally spilled the beans on Chase Briscoe’s arrival at JGR in a press meeting. Therefore, reacting to the incident, the NASCAR community was glad that no one was hurt when the fire broke out, but they also followed it up with a banter.
Facebook user Keith Clark captured this video from NHMS late Thursday/early Friday. @JoeGibbsRacing has confirmed to me that this is their team bus, which is used for meetings and gatherings at the track, on fire in the video. Nobody was in the bus at the time, and no injuries. pic.twitter.com/EpBkJwCwHv

Christopher Bell was held accountable by the fans for igniting the JGR bus on fire
The loyalty of NASCAR fans towards a particular manufacturer is one of the core aspects that keeps them connected to the sport. However, blaming the incident on the rival camp, a group of supporters believe the Ford fans were the perpetrators behind the fire. This was assumed to be their reaction to losing Chase Briscoe to JGR, “Someone at Ford was really p***ed at losing Chase Briscoe”.
Well, the trolling didn’t stop there. Even Chase Elliott was dragged into the incident after his teammate, Kyle Larson, joked about his departure from HMS to JGR. Again, thanks to Bell’s fumble during the press meeting. “Chase Elliott burned it down to eliminate even the remote possibility that CBell was talking about him”.
The news about Briscoe joining JGR has been doing the rounds in the news for some time now. It was like a known secret just to be validated by the team via an official announcement. However, Bell had different ideas, and he unofficially confirmed the news on Friday. There was no way the JGR camp would like to get their classified information leaked by their own members. At least this is what the trolls online were trying to establish with this comment on Reddit, “Burning all the secrets before Cbell does another interview ”.
Watch out, there was someone who genuinely felt betrayed to see JGR pick Briscoe over him. Remember Kyle Busch recently expressing his desire to return to JGR after his dismal showing with RCR this season? Well, that door is no longer open for him, and this is why some fans online questioned Rowdy’s involvement with the incident. “Anyone know where Kyle Busch was at this time?”.
The fans even linked the F1 McLaren team’s recent bus fire incident to this one and went on to predict a pole position for JGR for Sunday’s race. “mclaren fire turned into a pole so it’s looking good for cbell”.
Jokes aside, the good thing is that no one got injured or hurt from the incident. As far as Joe Gibbs Racing is concerned, they will look to get a winning result from this Sunday’s race at Loudon.
