Five highest ranked 2025 recruits Michigan saw on the road this week
The Michigan staff hit the road hard again this week and saw some of their top targets. Here are the five highest ranked 2025 recruits they visited (per On3’s Industry Ranking).
OL Andrew Babalola, Overland Park (Kan.) Blue Valley Northwest (No. 15)
Michigan offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell and offensive line coach Grant Newsome both made their way to Kansas to see Babalola on Wednesday. The two staffers made a hard push and were able to lock in Babalola for an official visit on June 14. This is a winnable five-star recruitment. However, the Wolverines still have some work to do. Oklahoma seems to be the favorite going into official visit season, and the Sooners get the last visit. Babalola is also set to make official visits to Auburn, Missouri and Stanford before making his decision later in the summer.
LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy (No. 61)
Michigan linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary and defensive coordinator Wink Martindale both saw Owusu-Boateng on Monday and had a positive meeting with the talented prospect. Owusu-Boateng has shuffled his official visit schedule a bit, but Michigan is still slated to receive his final summer OV on June 21. The Wolverines impressed him on his unofficial visit this spring and have really helped their stock over the last couple of months. Owusu-Boateng is also set to make official visits Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC. Florida remains in the mix as well and hosted him for an unofficial visit this spring. Owusu-Boateng said he may take his recruitment into the fall.
CB Blake Woodby, Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances (No. 65)
Michigan wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy serves as the area recruiter in the DMV and swung by national powerhouse St. Frances, where he saw Woodby and dished out offers to a handful of underclassmen. Woodby backed out of his commitment to Ohio State a day later and could be in play for the Wolverines. Woodby is a childhood friend of former Michigan star running back Blake Corum and actually made a trip to Ann Arbor when he was in middle school. With that said, Oregon is now considered the team to beat in this race.
CB Alex Graham, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy (No. 209)
As mentioned, Michigan defensive coordinator Wink Martindale was at IMG Academy on Monday. Graham, whose mother attended Michigan, abruptly gave Colorado a verbal commitment earlier this offseason. However, the four-star prospect remains interested in the Wolverines and didn’t rule out making a visit to U-M before the end of the process. Graham is originally from Detroit and spent the early part of his high school career at Cass Tech before transferring to IMG Academy last year. The door is still slightly open in this recruitment.
RB Donovan Johnson, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy (No. 228)
New Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford was also at IMG Academy on Monday and met with Johnson, who is currently recovering from an injury. Johnson is one of the more mysterious recruits of the cycle. He’s posted on social media just once this calendar year and keeps things very, very close to the vest. Johnson has not reported a Michigan offer, but he does have one, and the Wolverines are making a big push here. Alford recruited Johnson during his time at Ohio State, and that relationship will go a long way towards getting Johnson on campus for an official visit.
