Driver arrested after fleeing scene of crash, driving vehicle onto Colorado’s Folsom Field
A suspect is in custody after the driver in a hit-and-run crash entered Colorado’s Folsom Field Thursday night, according to the Boulder Police Department. Police confirmed there is no further threat to the public.
The crash took place at Foothills Parkway and Arapahoe, which is approx. two miles from Folsom Field. From there, the driver drove off and eventually entered the field, where was a “heavy police presence” Thursday evening, university police said.

Colorado is in the second season of the Deion Sanders era and take a 1-1 record into this week’s rivalry game against Colorado State. Last season’s game was in Boulder and was one for the ages as it headed to overtime.

Ultimately, the Buffs came away with the thrilling 43-35 victory thanks to a Shedeur Sanders pass to Michael Harrison in the extra period. They’ll renew their rivalry on Saturday in Fort Collins, and it comes after Colorado State coach Jay Norvell reportedly said he didn’t have “any feelings” for Coach Prime.
When asked about those comments this week, Deion Sanders said he met Norvell’s wife at the Big 12 meetings and didn’t have a response. He said he was “not looking for an apology.”
“Well, I had the honor and the pleasure at the Big 12 meetings to meet his wife,” Sanders said. “She’s delightful. I’m not looking for an apology. I just met her. She was delightful … I don’t judge people based off what they say when they’re emotional. I can’t do that man. My heart ain’t built like that. When you show me who you are, I gotta believe you, but I hadn’t seen that. I just met his wife and she was delightful.”
Multiple Colorado State players had some choice words about playing the Buffs again. When asked about that, Sanders said he didn’t want to “take the bait” and said the game is once again “personal.”
“It makes it personal again. It makes you think like, ‘Oh, OK.’ Because you analyze it as an adult. Kids don’t. They just get mad,” Sanders said. “You analyze it as an adult and you say, ‘OK, I see why you said that.’ And you know what’s behind it. But you try to understand that those are kids. Don’t do it.
“You want to do it. … So I’m not going to do it. I’m not going to take that bait. That’s too easy.”
